Highlights from CSO’s 67th Annual Gala

The Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra’s 67th Annual Gala was on Saturday, September 6th with more than 200 in attendance. The event included a three-course gourmet meal, live music by the Michael Lange Jazz Quintet, Charleston dance lessons from Travis Willert, live painting by James Overstreet, silent, live and paddle auctions, a wine raffle, and the culmination of CSO’s third, Make ME the Maestro fundraising campaign. Proceeds from the event support CSO’s 2025/26 concerts and education outreach.

Three incredible community members, Tammy Bauman, Petrina Peart and Mistie Woods competed for the coveted title of Maestro, and the honor of conducting the CSO orchestra on an upcoming concert. Votes were cast in the form of donations to CSO, and the candidates raised over $12,000. Ultimately there could only be one winner, and this year the title has been bestowed upon Tammy Bauman! CSO staff were honored to present Tammy with her very own baton in an engraved box at the Gala. Maestro Bauman will conduct a piece during our Holiday Magic concert on December 13th or at the Movie Music Matinee on January 25, 2026, so make sure to come out and support her again as she steps up to the podium!

The Gala is CSO’s major fundraising event, and we are so pleased to have been able to raise over $64,000 in support of the season. Thank you to Gala Committee Co-Chairs, Matt Cannon and Will Jones and all the committee members who helped make this such a fantastic event. And thank you to everyone who purchased tables or tickets, participated in the auctions, and donated in support of the Maestro candidates. Your generosity is instrumental to our success!
