Bring the Family for a Magical Afternoon at the CSO’s Annual Movie Music Matinee!

​The Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra invites families to join us for an unforgettable musical experience at our annual Movie Music Matinee on January 25th at 2:30 PM at the Cheyenne Civic Center. Presented by McDonald’s Restaurants of Cheyenne, this hour-long concert promises to be a delightful celebration of film music, appealing to audiences of all ages.

Under the baton of Maestro William Intriligator, attendees will enjoy live performances of beloved scores from blockbuster films such as Avengers, K-Pop Demon Hunters, The Greatest Showman, Superman, and Trolls. Additionally, a brand-new Cowboy Suite, arranged by our Composer-in-Residence, Jeff Lippencott, will be featured, adding a special touch to this year’s program.

The fun begins an hour early, at 1:30 PM, with an Instrument Petting Zoo, where young concert-goers can explore and interact with a variety of musical instruments—an experience guaranteed to spark their interest in music! We encourage all attendees to come dressed in costume to enhance the festive atmosphere.

Tickets are priced affordably at $5 for students and children, and $20 for adults, making it accessible for families to enjoy this unique musical outing.

Maestro Intriligator states, “This season’s Movie Music Matinee continues our annual tradition of performing selections from popular movies, particularly kid’s movies.  It also continues our tradition of allowing the kids to come in costume, experiment with playing instruments in the lobby beforehand, and coming up on stage and conducting the orchestra for a few seconds. It’s tons of fun! Something new this year is that we will be performing a short world premiere by a young composer who grew up right here in Cheyenne, Drake King. Drake will be here for the concert to introduce his piece and inspire the young people in the audience to think about pursuing music. We will also perform a suite of cowboy music from television and film, arranged by our Composer-in-residence, Jeff Lippencott. This is a program for the whole family, from the youngest to the oldest.
