Our own CSO Principal Flutist is featured in Khachaturian’s thrilling Flute Concerto. This is the concerto Ysmael was supposed to play with us last season when he was detained in Venezuela. He assures us he will not leave the country before this concert! The second half of this concert pays tribute to the world of dance and includes the ever-popular “Hoe-down” from Copland’s Rodeo. You will also enjoy the rhythmic vitality of John Adams’ music and the Mexican flair – and fun – of Marquez’s dance.
