For over 20 years, Becky has served as concertmaster of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra and performs regularly with the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra. A native of Bethlehem, PA, Becky holds a B.F.A in violin performance from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. After graduation, she played for three years in the Orquesta Filarmonica de Caracas, and then for four years with the Orquesta Sinfonica de Puerto Rico. While in San Juan, she freelanced extensively as a studio recording musician. In 1985, she began a six-year tenure with the Shreveport (LA) Symphony. Prior to her appointment with the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra, she spent three years as assistant concertmaster of the Cheyenne Symphony. Becky also performs throughout the season with the Fort Collins Symphony.
Becky was a member of the Colorado Philharmonic Orchestra, and also spent seven summers as a member of the Colorado Music Festival, one of the nation’s premier music festivals. She has registered several units of teacher training with prominent instructors of the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She was on the faculty of the Centenary College Suzuki String Program in Shreveport, and has also taught at the Suzuki Institute of the Lehigh Valley in PA.
Becky has taught at the University of Wyoming Summer Camp, and for ten years was the Director of Casper Suzuki Violins, teaching private and group lessons to students of all ages. She currently teaches violin to the Pre-Kindergarten class at Shepherd of the Hills Child Development Center, and continues to maintain a private teaching studio. Becky served as a sectional coach for the Casper Youth Orchestra, and was conductor of the CYO Sinfonia for two years.
In addition to her musical pursuits, she recently achieved a long-time goal of becoming a Certified Nurse Assistant, and enjoys fulfilling work at a facility for developmentally disabled adults.
Becky and her husband Jim, who is a NCSD strings teacher, are the parents of boys Jamie and Blair, both accomplished musicians.
